1. Young Investigators Travel Grants

With the support from an unrestricted educational grant from Baxter Healthcare Corporation, the ISPD 2006 is pleased to offer travel grants to young investigators who have an abstract submission, have applied for the grant during abstract submission and might otherwise have inadequate funds to attend the Congress. There is no restriction on economic status of the applicant's country. The sum of the grant amounts to US$1000 for presenting authors from Asia, $1,500 for Africa, Australia/New Zealand, Western and Eastern Europe, and $2000 for North and Latin America. Only applications from those who are under 40 years of age, as of 25 August 2006, will be accepted.

Travel grants will be offered only to applicants whose abstracts are rated with highest scores (within the same region) by the Scientific Programme Committee, independent of Baxter Healthcare Corporation. A supporting letter from the Division Chief will add points to the application and can be faxed or e-mailed to the Secretariat quoting the abstract number and the name of the applicant. For application, please specify on your online abstract submission form. The deadline for application is 15 March 2006.

No other grants or financial support of any kind in addition to the travel grants will be given from the Congress. It is emphasized that the awardees have to register and pay the registration fee independently. The travel grant will be granted during the Congress.
